Is it normal to need to change both brake pads and rotors on a 2005 Volvo S40 with 30k miles?

I'll start by saying I am a volvo dealership tech. Volvo brakes wear quickly but work very well, It is a compramise, you either get long life out of your brakes with inferior stopping power or you can have softer faster wearing brake pads and rotors and have far superior braking power. It is by no means abnormal for your vehicle to need brake pads and rotors at 30k, If you have any doubt you simply ask the service advisor what the rotors currently measure and ask what is the specification that the rotor needs replaced, All rotors wear out over time and there is always a min. thickness specification at pad replacement, I do beleive your vehicles rotors need to be repaced when they measure around 23.8 mm.

If it is acute, then that means it came on suddenly. Do you know the reasons? Are you stressed, eating highly spiced foods, gall bladder problems? There are a number of things that can cause it and a number of treatments. It shouldn't be a permanent thing but you have to know what caused it. Have you had an endoscopy, they can check for a bacteria in the stomach that can cause this. Then you take the prescribed medicine for about 2 to 3 weeks and should get better. Talk to your doctor. He knows your history best and should be able to tell you what is going on and what to do. Good luck.

How to train cat to stop going after birds?

My girlfriend recently bought a cat that is now 1 year old, and lives in our house. The problem is that I own lots of birds including three cages of zebra , gouldian, and star finches, lorikeets, and parrotlets.For the past two months, every single day, the cat goes and sits next to the bird cages, and tries to terrorize them. I moved my birds into our bedroom, but this hasn't helped either. I lock the door when I go out, but obviously when I'm doing things around the house and can't keep the door locked, the cat runs in and sits on top of the cages to har the birds. He constantly does this and wont stop. I've tried being nice by telling him no and picking him up and carrying him out of the room. That didn't work so I tried chasing him out with a broom. I even bought him little toy birds that he could play with, but it still wont work. A few days ago, I found him running out of the room with one of my finches in his mouth. Apparently, he opened up the cage and caught one. I immediately secured the bird, picked the cat up by the skin of his neck, and shook him a bit until he was dazed. I've tried all methods of trying to get him to stop, but he continues to get worse and worse. It seems now that the punishments need to be harsher to get him to stop, so now when he tries to go after the birds, I wring him out by the neck for a few seconds then carry him outside. (It's not too forceful because I don't want to hurt him) Does anyone have any advice to get him to stop?

I am going down to mexico in 1 month and I was wondering if i can walk across the border with my children if we don't have pports. My husband was deported 4 years ago and we never got pports. I been ttc for over a year and the doctor put me on 50mg of clomid of couple months didn't work, then he switched it o 100mg pluse the HCG injection they checked it they said i did ovulate one large and 2 smalls?? then the nurse told me before the injection your follicle is 2.4 usually is 2.2 before the injection, I didnt really get her? so i been told to come in 2 weeks to check for pregnancey test, Iam sooo nervous if I get disappointed, what should i do? Enlarged or more follicles on ovaries; more difficult to conceive?

I had a routine pap smear, but there was sensitivity on my left side so the doctor ordered an ultrasound. She went over the results with me and said there were follicles on my ovaries that were bigger/more than usual. I asked if that meant I could have released more eggs than usual and she said that it would be quite the opposite. If anyone can explain this more to me, I would appreciate it. I already talked to the doctor and she explained it as best she could but I just basically asked what they were and what it meant.

Um... I suppose this borrows from the idea of utilizing Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and Koa'ki Meiru Drago's crippling effects, innovated in Richard Clarke's Disaster Dragon deck. You need one more Koa'ki Meiru Drago. I dislike having 3 Totems and having 2 Trade-Ins when you only have 4 targets. I'd suggest having a Solemn, Dark Bribe, or Divine Wrath. I prefer Waboku over Threatening Roar, because you can use it for Honests and Glads don't see much play anymore, at least not where I'm around. I would take out the Smashing Ground for Fissure to help against Marshmallons and Spirit Reapers that I ume this deck might have trouble dealing with. Other than that, the deck looks pretty good. You should tell me how it does, because I'm questioning how good 3 BEWD with only 2 REDMD will do (it's hard trying to keep a Totem alive for normal summoning a Blue-Eyes or LaDD next turn.)

I've read alot of stuff, but I'm not quite sure yet exactly. All I know is that I've had vivid night terrors about being a a child who has been murdered. I remember it looked very old fashioned. I don't think I came here for a while, then back again in the seventies, cause I had dreams of a pleasant life then, but again I died. Head injury I think...But what makes it all seem fake is that I have a good imagination, I'm a writer. So is it made up? And even if it, is it possible to carry phobias into the next life?

First time pasture board for my horse?!?

Hi, I'm hoping somebody can help me. I have a twelve year old thoroughbred gelding that has had some lameness issue for the past eight months. My vet wants him put out to pasture and 'not to touch him' for three months to get rid of his hunter bump. (I can still feed him carrots and that kind of thing). My horse is an ex racehorse and always been in a stall although he does get turned out about eight hours a day. He hates bugs (he has had to be brought in early from turnout becuase he runs around so much) and is very spooky. I'm very concerned about if he is going to be ok in pasture board where he'll be out 24/7. There will be one other horse out there with him and a donkey. I also live in Illinois where the weather can be horrible... thunderstorms, tornadoes, hail, etc. Also, it sounds crazy but will he forget about me? I'm still going to see him as much as possible. Any advice from anybody would be great cause I've been a mess since I found out he'll have to be put out there. Thank you so much for your advice.

My vet said my kitten might have soft bone disease. is he going to die?

our kitten was x-rayed and found a broken hip bone and knee cap from no apparent injury. he is indoors only. ever since we got him, he has wobbled on his feet and then his walking got progressively worse until he would "roll" his hips to get around and drag his body by his little arms. other than his walking, he is vibrant and loves to play, eat and enjoy life. i can't imagine putting him down because of this. his walking got a bit better on anti-inflammatory drugs and he was able to get around until he broke his two bones for no apparent reason. any opinions on what the heck to do?

Birth control problems?

I was taking Yasmin (an oral contraceptive) and I told my doctor that I didn't want to deal with remembering to take a pill everyday. So we discussed other options. He gave me a prescription and when i filled it it was more pills. The first few months I was on the new pills I would get my period early... last month I got it early and than a week after I started taking the pills for the month I got my period again. Now this month I am 5 days late. I don't think I'm pregnant, but what else could cause me to be late while on this pill? The Yasmin I had it like clockwork.. I'm freaking out! Tell yourself you're going to live in Toronto for a year. Transfer to a college in Australia. Or hike the Appalachian Trail. If it doesn't turn out to be the best thing you ever did, it will still be an experience.

Cape construction pattern/instruction...?

I'm looking to find out how to construct a cape similar to those worn in the 19th century. Full length, and wide enough to wrap around me like a cloak of sorts. How old is too old for someone to be a flowergirl?

In my wedding party I have 4 bridesmaids, and then I was going to have 2 junior bridesmaids. One of the junior bridesmaids is 11 and will be 12 by the time my wedding comes around. Can someone with medical knowledge help?

My son is 2 1/2 years old and weighs about 23 pounds. At one year he weighed 20 pounds and he was weighing more for a while and then he's stabilized around 23 pounds. He eats a lot and eats at least 3 meals a day and fruit for snacks. Now I'm not worried about his eating habits as he eats really well, but his energy level is very horrible. I have an appointment with his doctor in a couple days because since he started walking at 17 months, he just does not have very much energy throughout the day. Whenever I take him to the park he will play for 10 minutes and then go lay down on the ground. He goes to early intervention and by the end of cl he is falling asleep.The cl is about 1 1/2 hours and honestly it's not that physically demanding. We have had him checked for a heart defect and he had an innocent stills murmur. He sleeps probably between 10-12 hours every night and gets a nap midday because he can't make it through. I honestly thought he would grow out of this, but sadly he has not and it seems to be getting worse. My son does have very low muscle tone. We are thinking he may have a food allergy of some kind that may be causing this or it could be something else. Any suggestions from you guys would really help. I'm going to be asking the doctor for allergy tests, but anything else you guys can think of to have him tested for would really help me out when I go in a few days.

A strange problem...............?

I'm having a problem concerning my lips since past 3.5 years. I can't leave it free and always keep it pressed as i feel that it may protude out involuntarily.... as a result i feel weird sensations in muscles surrounding my lips as i use them to keep my lips pressed. I love Orlando! I went to college there & lived there for a year after. All of the areas you listed are nice... And Oviedo is a really great area too. I lived in Orlando (UCF at the dorms), Oviedo , and Winter Park. Some areas are worse than others, but in general Orlando really isn't very dangerous. Traffic isnt nearly as bad as it is in DC (I lived on Long Island for most of my life, and Orlando traffic is nothing compared to that!) Its a pretty fast paced city. Its spread out though so you will need a car. There is a ton of things to do to keep you entertained. You arent to far from the beaches (about an hour or so). I was honestly very happy living in Orlando, and I'm seriously considering moving back there. I also spent some time in Cadiz, Ohio. Orlando is SO much better than Ohio. I think you'd be happy in Orlando, its an amazing place to live!

Okay, so I started on a new story last night?

I am trying to write a novel (rather than my normal short stories), and from answers to a previous question...stick to what you like and know. My problem is, I prefer reading historical time period based books, but I am completely clueless as to writing that way. I did start my story, with the intentions of it taking place long ago...but need help in an area I should pinpoint on to do a bit of research. For example, small town, women still mainly wear dresses, local market... society still stresses and expects girls to marry, and families expect them to marry well. I am planning on having a train station being present at some point in the book. So far pretty general. Do I need to focus on a specific time period? And make that more evident? Or is it okay to not be so specific? And if I should make the time period more specific, any ideas of what time period I should do a bit of research on to encorporate it into my story a bit more?

Over the past 3 months or so, I think I've been gaining some weight without meaning to. My diet has changed considerably: for lunch, instead of having a low-sugar yogurt, a protein granola bar, and something else low carb, I'm having oranges, applesauce, bananas, strawberries, yogurt, etc. Basically, I'm consuming a lot more fruit that I would have 3-4 months ago. For breakfast, instead of having 3 scrambled eggs, I'll have a banana, a protein shake and some low-fat sausages. I'm eating fruit for 2 meals now. I've also gotten into the habit if snacking on dried prunes (no added sugar) raisins, and I'll eat plenty of whole grains. According to the scale, I've gained about 10 pounds. My exercise regimen hasn't changed. I will also mix fruit juice with water and drink it. Lots of fruit. I'll usually have one GNC lean shake a day for breakfast; I didn't used to have them. What is the problem with my diet? I should add that I'm 17 and I'm frequently under stress. I take vitamin Bs, melatonin, and Pion Flower sometimes. My monthly cycles are 7 weeks apart.

Tonight, I did something that made my husband mad. He said he would go spend the night at a hotel. I convinced him that was irresponsible to leave your family because you're mad. He went out to have drinks. Before he left, I apologized for my part in things. When he came back, he was still mad but I was no longer apologetic. Sony microvault failure?

I have a 4gb Sony Microvault with some fairly important stuff on it. I've been using it in conjunction with my IBM ThinkPad and other computers for at least a year now with no trouble. Today I tried to send a file there from My Scans and it didn't work. Ever since then, anytime I try to open up the Microvault my computer (as well as my girlfriend's says) "Insert a disk into drive F:". Can anything be done to recover my files or am I just SOL? My Laptop charger is making a CRACKLING noise!? HELP!?

So I have a laptop an Acer one and i've had it for around 3 years. Now today the charger bit at the top where you plug it in (the yellow bit on the top of the actual charger where the silver bit is as well) is making a weird crackling noise when I go to put it in. My cat "Ellen" was spayed this week. When I brought her home I noticed that she had phlegm, because everytime she tried to purr, she was making a terrible noise, like she had a full chest. Should my dad and stepmom be in jail?

2 years ago my dad and i got into a argument and i said to him F*** you and he yelled at me and slapped me and i said it to him again and he punched me in the face. So after he left my bedroom i ran into the bathroom down the hall and called my biological mom and told her my story and for her to call the cops. I wasnt supposed to have my phone over there(im not sure why) so when i left the bathroom i heard my dad call out to me and say i just called the police and there on there way. 5 minutes later my biological mom came to my dads house and was sticking up for me and saw my eye which was turning black and swollen and 10 minutes later my step mom came home and started to yell at me. Eventually the cops showed up and saw my eye and put my dad in handcuffs and put him in the cop car and my step mom told the cops that she was there and saw me beating up on my dad and i was attacking him!!!! so she lied to them she was never even there!!!! and one of the 2 cops told my biological mom that its his word against mine and if we went to court about it and lost that i would be in jouvy(kids jail) so my biological mom said no were not gonna sue and thats pretty much it....this was 2 years ago when i was 13..i am now 15 and after that i wanted to live with my mom but the police said no that i have to live with my dad ;( and that my little brother had to stay there to. ;( so what do you all think should of happend to my dad and step mom?

Pregnant on junel? Really weird period trends, please help!?

Kinda long question, sorry. In August, I was on Yaz bc pills. I had with my partner. Sometime around the same time, I started having problem with my period. I started my periods before the inactive pills and would sometimes have a 4 day period, sometimes they would last much longer. I made a dr appt because of my period not stopping. 2 months later, he started me on junel 1.5/30. I was pretty worried about maybe being pregnant even though I was bleeding b/c I had heard of that happening to other people. Had 4 negative tests. Used EPT's (the good ones). The first month on junel went pretty much like it was supposed to. Had a little spotting. The second month, no spotting but really heavy period with clots and cramping. But this month, a week after my period, I started a light bleeding (heavier than breakthrough but not real heavy). This lasted for 3 weeks. Then, two days before I was supposed to start my period, it stopped. Now I am 5 days late. I'm really scared that I'm pregnant. I'm going to take a test today, and am going to make a dr appt. Just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with this. Oh yea, And I only had 1 time this month, 3 days after my period stopped.

I then checked my account and it said "Pending transaction" right next to the amount. I called the people and they said something about an authorization. My question is will I get the money back in a couple of days?

She has been getting major migraines and throwing up in the morning violently (but still going to work most of the time) because she is so sick of going to a place where she is treated that way but its the only income we are receiving at the moment due to my lay off in December, so she continued to work. But other employees he'll let be 15 minutes late without a word to them but she is 3 minutes late and gets written up and yelled at? Always talked down and disrespected by owner constantly and now I find this action to be almost an intimidation technique of his. She has always been a very hard worker and good employee and I don't want him to get away with this attitude of his especially when it come to referral time for a new job for her. MOLD problem in a guest room what should I do?

It has been smelling mildewy for months and we finally found our problem. we had the walls and carpet completely torn out to find it and it ended up being behind a moisture barrier or some sort of wrap that goes up about 12 inches from the floor behind the framing and insulation. But there is no sign of actual water damage....what could have caused this? The smell was so strong! We had the room fumigated to kill the mold and all the drywall and carpet taken out. Now all that is left are the interior walls and the framing. You can see where the mold was but it is supposedly dead now. what should be my next step? should that be removed? should we just put up new drywall and new carpet? I usually don't criticize the officiating but there were a more than just a few times that they completely missed the call. I feel the game would not have been close if not for the officiating. This concerns me since I am sure that the final four probably uses some of these officials. If they are allowing the defender to move while the offensive player is trying to move to the basket then have the gall to make a charge call. Then I see it as time up for the officials. Need some new blood in there since I know that it is politics that puts these officials there in the first place. I have seen high school games better officiated. Blocking is the call when moving side to side the defender must have position before a charge can be called...even if the offensive player is moving toward the pick.
