2002 mercury cougar RWD or FWD?

My brother is letting me barrow his 02 Cougar, Is it RWD or FWD? I cant tell by doing a burnout. Also is there something wrong with the traction control? When i have Trac-control ON and i accelerate fast the tires dont spin in 1st gear but they spin in 2nd gear and sometimes 3rd depending on how fast im accelerateing. Its a 2.5L V6 twin turbo 5speed manual.
