Do Southerners hate Republicans?

The Republican led Union army defeated the confederate army, so it only makes sense that southerners who support the confederacy would hate the Republican Party, right? The party that declared war on the South and killed hundreds of thousands of Southerners? It doesn't make sense that anyone could support both. Please don't explain what the war was about, I just want opinions on if my logic is sound. If you are a southern confederate and support the Republican party, please explain!
