I'm just wondering how military actions in foreign countries can affect our lives at home. Not just by other countries and people becoming enemies, but by our own military. I'm not afraid of a common citizen soldier, more by the power and freedom given to the military overseas....How does the government and the Constitution protect us from our own military? Are Constitution-loving people like me just fooling ourselves in believing that (what Bush called...) a "GD piece of paper" can protect us....if, one day, the government realized it didn't need the citizens support...what would stop them from destroying democracy? What's to stop a future president from ordering US divisions into Minneapolis?
