Atheists- Do you consider the tithe that a parishioner gives to his or her church a charitable donation?

I've always felt that the tithe goes largely to funding the church. The parishioners use the church facilities so it should be financed by the congregation. I wouldn't call this charity, but that's what many Christians consider their tithe to be. What do you think?
